Art, General, History, Historic House
Come stroll with us through lives, memories and events unique to Shelby County. The Shelby County Museum is located in the Center of Shelby County, deep in the rolling hills of East Texas' pineywoods.
The Museum Building, circa 1900 Weaver-Oates house, was built by E. H. Barron. You'll find yourself taking an educational journey through American Indian life, early Spanish and European explorations and the episodes thereafter that forever shaped the landscape of Texas and Shelby County.
The Genealogy Research Library and Archives are also housed in the newly renovated museum building. The library and archives offer a wide selection of research materials to aid in your endeavors.
