The Lutheran Heritage Center and Museum complex was constructed in 2005. A state-of-the-art exhibit hall, reception area, and gift shop was integrated into the 1845 church building, commonly known as the "Old School", which served as the original museum. The Museum interprets the 1838-39 Saxon Lutheran immigration and the history of the seven original colonies in East Perry County, Missouri, the origins of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, and the regional German-American culture.
The Perry County Lutheran Historical Society serves as the administrative body of the Lutheran Heritage Center and Museum.
The Museum offers guided and self-guided tours of the main gallery and original church.

Civil War Museum of Jackson Co
Lone Jack, Missouri

Archaeology, Cemetery, History, Historical Society, Military, Park

This site represents the impact of the Civil War on this nation's citizens as it exemplifies the national conflict as well as the deprivations and terror civilians in the Border Counties endured as renegade bands of guerillas and irregular Union troops preyed on them from 1854, when the Border War started and continued throughout the war years. The constant threat from the numerous skirmishes, the spying of neighbor against neighbor, the irregular practices of draft enforcement and the depravations of the war set a true example of the war of brother against brother. This battle is indicative of the fratricidal nature of the Civil War in Missouri.
