We have restored the White Deer Land Co. offices and have added two more buildings.We now feature the Red River War in a new building.

History

Artifact Collections

Furniture - Gray County area; late 1800s-1920s; on display in about 19 rooms.

Parlor - Extensive (organ, courting bench, clavier, rocking chairs, phonograph, record cabinet, writing desk)

Chapel - About six pieces form Pampa churches. Early 1900s.

Dining room - Table, chairs, buffet, high chair, child's recliner. 1900-25.

Bedroom - Iron bedstead, marble-topped dresser, armoire. Early 1900s.

Kitchen - Bend Mallable stove, two cabinets, washing machine, churns. Mid 1900s.

Doctor's office - Medical equipment, desks, exam tables, wheel chairs. 1920s-30s.

Barber shop - Two barber chairs, lavatory, shoe shine stand, beauty shop equipment. 1920s.

School room - Teacher and student desks.

Post office - Tables, cancellation desk, mail hutches, cancellation machine. 1920s-30s.

Sewing room - Treadle machines, sewing rocker, spinning wheel, hand-made ironing board. Early 1900s through 1930s.

M. K. Brown's apartment - 1924-36. Living room, kitchen, and bath furnished. Bedroom used for showcase display.

Clothing: Early 1900s - fair size collection. Condition is from fair to poor. 1920s - good size collection. Condition is good. 1930s - good size collection. Condition is good. 1940s - good size collection. Condition is good. 1950-60s clothes in storage. All are mostly women and children's clothes. Includes many hats and shoes. Most 1900s-20s clothes on display, due to inadequate storage now.

Tack - Extensive. Saddles, ranch-working equipment. 1920s-30s.

Grocery store - Completely stocked. Early 1900s.

Arrowhead collection - Very extensive. Collection by R. J. Sailor, Sr. Some 65 frames and 2 full showcases, remainder in storage.

18th, 19th, 20th Century. Textiles, furnishings,period clothes, large arrowhead collection.
Research Collections

Research materials deals primarily with Gray county and Pampa history. Archival photographs - mostly Gray County people and places. All are available for research.

12 filing cabinets containing area research for the public.
Educational Programs

Guided tours for school kids and history students; docent program being planned now; programs not available for loan/tour.
